How should I attempt to enter the accounting profession ?

I have bad grades in my economics degree. I could study hard and recieve good grades in accounting. Will that help to compensate ?
How should I attempt to enter the industry considering my bad grades ?
I also do not have very good people skills. I am not charismatic and people don’t like me very much.
Sorry for the typo, my degree is in economics.

My wife has a degree in accounting, and hates it. But, she was working in collections. So, if you want to get into accounting get into the accounting end of it, not the collection side.
